The "Shallow" singer's rep confirmed the news of the end of her engagement Tuesday, following days of rumors that the relationship had ended.

Lady Gaga and her fiancé Christian Carino have split, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Gaga and Carino were first linked in February 2017, when the two of them were spotted ahead of her Super Bowl half time show performance.

At Elle's 25th Annual Women in Hollywood Celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in October 2018, honoree Gaga revealed her engagement to Carino by thanking "my fiancé Christian" during her speech.

However, only a few months later, fans began to speculate that all wasn't well with the couple.

It's exciting for me, I can put my game plans into place, use my variations and being clever with what you bowl. I'm trying to keep up with the youngsters in the field who are like cats the way they chase the ball.

Gaga also walked the red carpet with her "Shallow" co-writers, and Carino did not attend the ceremony despite being her date for the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes. Sadly, this marks the second failed engagement for Gaga, as she and Taylor Kinney, 37, ended their five-year relationship in July 2016.

Carino regularly posted photos with his fiancee on Instagram, and those have stayed up as the rumors swirl.

Instead of a heartfelt post about her beau, she shared new inkwork of a rose running down her back, an ode to the song "la vie en rose".

Gaga is now preparing to attend the Oscars next week as she is nominated and will be performing with co-star Bradley Cooper.
