MLB Insider Believes Bryce Harper Is Down To 2 Teams

That could throw a wrench in San Francisco's bid to acquire Harper, as new VP of Baseball Operations Farhan Zaidi has shown little enthusiasm at the prospect of breaking the bank for one player this offseason, with so many holes on both the Giants' big-league roster, and farm system. The Phillies have always been interested in inking Harper to a massive contract, bu the Giants are a relative newcomer to the race.

Harper entered free agency with reported hopes of securing a contract in excess of 10 years and $300 million.

Monday after the Capitals morning skate, Capitals forward Tom Wilson revealed that he lost a high profile follow on Twitter recently: Bryce Harper. Reports are now claiming a decision would be forthcoming from Harper this week after having met with all his suitors.

"With the Giants moving in and all the optimism, I do believe it's a coin flip", Nightengale told KNBR. Bonds meant so much to the Giants back then, and (Harper) wants to be that guy now.
