Nike's self-lacing shoes are being BRICKED by Android update

Nike’s high-tech shoes won’t boot

Now, of course, Nike's first self-lacing sneaker was the Hyper Adapt and on February 17th, the Beaverton brand released the Nike Adapt BB, the latest iteration in their line of technologically advanced shoes. The app pairs with the shoes and lets you adjust the tightness of the laces, customize the lights (yeah, there are lights), and see, uh, how much battery life your shoes have left. And while this doesn't seem to have affected the iOS app, the update has caused some big problems on Android. Our comments section was full of people discussing dystopian futures with rebellious footwear, and they didn't have to wait long - the shoes seem to be bricking during the initial software update itself. There are reports on the Google Play Store with reviews stating that the shoes "stop working after the update". "Also, app says left shoe is already connected to another device whenever I try to reinstall and start over".

Users have suggested workarounds in the interim, such as users needing to perform a manual reset of both shoes.

Lanka IN with A chance to make history
Eighteen wickets fell and 282 runs were scored during an extraordinary day's play, leaving both teams with a chance of victory. They were followed by a succession of batsmen who played extravagant shots before perishing.

The software debacle isn't even the biggest shoe-related headache Nike is facing this week as on Wednesday night a shoe worn by the hottest prospect in U.S. college basketball, Zion Williamson, burst apart as the Duke player went up against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Additionally, customers are reporting faulty firmware updates for the shoes, leaving the Adapt BB sneakers completely useless.
