Picked up by the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the 2012 draft, the 26-year-old native of Kitchener, Ont., moved to the Penguins earlier this season.

Pearson has nine goals and five assists in 44 games for Pittsburgh and could help a Vancouver team plagued by injuries to forwards in recent weeks.

He appears destined to be the latest winger to skate on Elias Pettersson's wing.

It was a good indication of what Penguins fans can expect from Gudbranson, Bjugstad said.

"He's been a 40, 45-point guy in the league", Benning told reporters. He is, after all, a league-worst minus-27 this season.

Gudbranson had played three injury-filled seasons with the Canucks since being acquired in the summer of 2016 from the Florida Panthers. "I think he'll be a good fit here", Bjugstad said.

"That's what we're going to have to do tomorrow without 'Tanger, ' a big part of this team, 'Dumo, ' a huge part of this team", Schultz said.

The Gudbranson trade developed in the last few days. He is signed through the 2020-21 season.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory suspended indefinitely for substance abuse
Gregory, a second-round pick in 2015, appeared in 14 games last season and showed some promise on the way to six sacks. Garrett said the latest suspension is not an impetus for the Cowboys to cut ties with the defensive end.

"Whatever it was, he just didn't get adjusted".

Was it a good idea to trade Jonathan Dahlen? I watched him fight Haley this year. "We'll just have to play simple, play hard".

"Alex has been a great player for us for a long time", he said. "I've been training hard, getting ready to come back".

Dahlen tore up the Swedish second-division Allsvenskan last season, leading Timra, his hometown team, to promotion to the Swedish Hockey League.

But in Utica, he struggled to find consistency in his game and clearly chafed at how the coaching staff there were handling his situation.

Vancouver also got calls about Edler leading up to the trade deadline, Benning said.

Negotiations about Edler's future continue, Benning said.

Luke Schenn is expected to take over some of Gudbranson's protective role, Benning said.
