Most every time Elway will end an answer by saying he wants to do what "makes sense".

Elway joined the Broncos as an executive in January of 2011, and he signed National Football League legend Peyton Manning the following spring. He spent 11 seasons with the Ravens and was the MVP of their Super Bowl triumph over the San Francisco 49ers to conclude the 2012 season. Meanwhile, the Broncos never got their 2018 quarterback, Case Keenum, to replicate the kind of efforts he enjoyed with the Minnesota Vikings the year before. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that the Broncos will send a "mid-round pick" to Baltimore, further reports suggest that will be a fourth-rounder. But alas, the Broncos have made a trade which can't be official until March 13th, when the new league year begins for the NFL. A year ago, Elway signed Keenum to a two-year, $36 million deal and said Keenum had a better year in 2017 than Kirk Cousins, whom the Broncos had also looked at in free agency.

The trade is rumored to be Flacco in exchange for a "mid-round pick" - details of which will be revealed in the near future.

James Harden: Rockets star makes worrying injury claim after win over Mavericks
Teammates admit that they're enjoying being a part of a historic run, but Harden often steers the discussion back to winning. Wilt Chamberlain has the two longest 30-point streaks in the National Basketball Association at 31 games and 65 games.

Flacco, 34, doesn't have any more guaranteed money on his contract, but the contract does come with a cap hit of $18.5 million for 2019. The Broncos traded Siemian to the Vikings in 2018.

Flacco lost his starting job last season to then-rookie Lamar Jackson, making him an expendable commodity. The Broncos can try to trade Keenum, but with a $21 million total cap number and $7 million in guarantees for the upcoming season, that might make it hard to find trade partners. The Broncos hold a top-10 pick. So quarterback should, and will, get a long look from the team in the buildup to April. It would be foolish to assume Elway and Fangio are both viewing Flacco as a long-term solution. When Manning suffered an injury during the 2015 season, Osweiler led the Broncos to the playoffs with a 5-2 record as a starter - but was benched in the regular season finale.

Thankfully, we don't have to wonder what the Broncos gave up for the next month.
