Rockstar Details Big Updates Heading to Red Dead Online on February 26th

Red Dead Online Update

Red Dead Online Update

With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. With the support of this team and the continuation of interest by the community, Red Dead Online will come out of Beta with steller popularity.

With the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as its foundation, Red Dead Online transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns and habitats of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players.

Rockstar Games has a new Red Dead Online update coming on February 26th with new features to combat griefing in Red Dead Redemption 2's online component.

Player visibility is being adjusted to reduce the visibility of player blips more than 150m away, and only further if you fire your gun. Along with these changes, players in other towns and regions will be invisible to other players.

A new system which highlights overly aggressive players will be added. Your dot will also progressively darken by incrementally shifting from blue to dark red.

Committing dishonorable deeds will also make you stand out to other players. "Shift back to a more righteous path and your visibility will fade over time".

Posse-wide Parleys will allow you to initiate Parley that applies to your attacker's entire Posse after a single kill.

Teen defies anti-vaccine parents, gets shots
In November, the 18-year-old went on the online message board Reddit to ask where he could get up to date with his vaccinations . For instance, two doses of the vaccine against measles is 97 percent effective, according to the CDC.

If you have racked up a high bounty, NPC bounty hunters will attempt to hunt you and kill you for a reward. Essentially, committing serious crimes such as killing other players incur a high bounty and reduce your honor, while minor crimes will reduce your honor only. Killing another player will give you a high bounty, whereas assaulting an NPC or an animal will give you a smaller bounty.

Even if you manage to escape the NPCs' clutches, once your bounty passes a certain threshold you'll be wanted dead, and it'll become harder for you (and anyone riding with you) to avoid the bounty hunters. You bounty will be determined by the crime, so if you murder other players, you'll be worth a lot more than if you simply loot someone or cause a disturbance.

A host of daily challenges are also being introduced, which will earn you gold nuggets and XP. These challenges include from fencing items, gathering herbs, hunting, clearing hideouts, and skinning animals. Rockstar has noted that these challenges will continue to evolve over time.

Your feedback has been invaluable so please keep it coming.

Finally, a bunch of fixes and tweaks, such as re-balancing the Varmint Rifle and modifying voice chat to work in closer proximity will also be included.

Red Dead Online's next update is scheduled to release on February 26th.
