Paramount has debuted a second trailer for Rocketman, the upcoming biopic about the colorful life of famed musician Elton John, as played by Taron Egerton.

Instead, if the new trailer is anything to go by, director Dexter Fletcher (probably best known for being the man who filled in for Bryan Singer after the filmmaker was sacked partway through the Bohemian Rhapsody shoot) appears to be going for a fantasmagorical take on John's life, filled with impromptu musical numbers and sustained fantasy sequences.

Check out the trailer below and watch "Rocketman" in Philippine cinemas June 19.

ROCKETMAN is an epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John's breakthrough years. The makers recently released the trailer of Taron Egerton starrer Rocketman and the promo packs in quite the musical extravaganza in a matter of two minutes.

Jamie Bell stars as Elton's longtime lyricist and writing partner Bernie Taupin and Bryce Dallas Howard appears as Elton's mother Sheila Farebrother, while Richard Madden (Rob Stark from Game of Thrones) assumes the role of manager John Reid.

Music producer Giles Martin added: "Elton said, 'I don't think I've heard anyone sing my songs better than Taron'".

Egerton has also previously indicated that the film is not to be seen as a biopic.
