The Division 2 details free post-launch content, Year 1 Pass

In addition, all players will receive a "full year of free post-launch content that includes Episodes, free major content updates with additional narratives & missions & more". It's great that all Year 1 content is free, but since The Division 2 is a live service game, players are always gonna be the tempted into staying ahead of the curve, and if that means paying extra for early access to new bits and pieces, well.

Tidal Basin, releasing shortly after launch, will reveal a new challenging stronghold held by the Black Tusks.

Following the game's release on March 15, Ubisoft will gradually introduce new episodes, modes, specializations, and more. "Alongside the Episodes we will also release three brand new Specializations for you to take on Washington's challenges in a new way, each of them bringing a new unique signature weapon and skills tree to unlock and master".

Following that, Ubisoft will roll out The Division 2's first post-launch episode, titled D.C. Outskirts: Expeditions, this summer.

Episode 2: Pentagon: The Last Castle, releasing in Autumn 2019, will have additional main missions, with players storming the Pentagon and unveil the secrets that hide beneath one of America's most iconic locations.

"Year 1 Pass grants 7-day early access to all Year 1 Episodes, instant access to all Year 1 Specializations as they release, eight Classified Assignments: The fall of DC, along with exclusive cosmetics and additional in game activities", it reads. The pass costs $40 Dollars and will grant players seven-day early access to all post-launch episodes during the game's first year, as well as instant access to any new specializations. Ubisoft stresses these will be optional and won't give those who spend money in the game an advantage over those who do not.

Open beta set for March 1 to 4. It will feature three main missions and five side missions.
