'Titanfall' Battle Royale Game Will Have No Titans

Rumblings of the surprise release emerged after YouTube channel TheQuartering cited inside sources claiming the game would be announced on Monday, with numerous streamers, such as Shroud and Dr. Disrespect, having reportedly played the game already.

Twitter games blogger Nibel has sources saying Apex Legends is "set in the Titanfall universe" and described it as a mix of Blackout and Siege.

To stay free, Apex Legends will rely on purely cosmetic microtransactions and loot boxes.

For now, we are still categorizing this as a rumor but will be updating the story with any breaking developments about Apex Legends.

Antonio Brown: 'I just want to win'
Earlier this week, Brown headed to Atlanta for the upcoming Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots. Brown said. "I just want to win".

That's about all that's confirmed, but if the weekend rumour mill is to be believed, Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale with up to 60 players.

There is other evidence that bolsters this rumor. As more details come out about the game, DualShockers will be sure to share them with you. Apex Legends' developer Respawn Entertainment was acquired by EA back in Fall 2017, and, as teased in a recent earnings call, has more than one game releasing this year. The descriptions says that they are "Computer game software; Video game software; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices" and "Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game". Even if the rumors are untrue, EA is certainly doing something with the name "Apex Legends". It nearly feels as if EA tries to sabotage their own games with overlapping release windows.

It's unclear what improvements, if any, have been made to characters or game mechanics from Titanfall 2. It's quite possible that this is just a spin-off that Respawn plans to release while it continues working on Titanfall 3. The first is Apex Legends, while the studio will be putting out Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order soon as well. The game should be released by the end of 2019.
