Vikings pick up 2020 option on Zimmer

This morning, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman spoke and the media at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine where it was revealed that Mike Zimmer would remain the team's head coach through the 2020 NFL season and shared on the team's official website.

General manager Rick Spielman made the announcement in Indianapolis at the National Football League scouting combine.

At his season-ending news conference last month, Zimmer said he had no issue with coaching in the final year of his contract.

Zimmer, 62, is 47-32-1 as head coach, with two postseason appearances and one trip to the NFC Championship Game in his five seasons. Kevin Stefanski was promoted to replace DeFilippo, and the Vikings hired former Denver and Houston coach Gary Kubiak as an offensive adviser.

"I think he did a very good job from a statistical standpoint; we just didn't win enough games". His contract was previously set to expire after the 2019 season. He was the offensive play-caller for that team.

The Bundys, a trio of performers, then belted out "Closer To Fine", and Kelly and Blake both pressed their buttons. John: "Your town is gorgeous, you sounded great". "Because really at the end of the day, your team chooses you".

"Sure, I got no problem with that". Favre's stats dropped that season in a new offense, before, of course, he rebounded the following season with the Vikings in an offense that more closely matched what he ran for all those years in Green Bay. Kirk Cousins has had previous success in offenses involving Kubiak.

Spielman would not address his contract status, saying, "I'm never going to talk about my situation". "But the blame has to be spread around", Spielman said. After four straight years of top-10 scoring defenses, Zimmer's status beyond next season could hinge on the Vikings' offensive performance.

There's still a lot that will shake out roster-wise between the NFL Draft and free agency.

Zimmer will address the media at the National Football League combine on Thursday.
