Back in 2016, Amber claimed that he had cut his own finger off in a "fit of rage" but according to court documents, a month after the couple married in February 2015, she "shattered the bones in the tip of Mr Depp's right middle finger, nearly completely cutting it off".

Heard said she "refused" to admit her family strife was a problem and "didn't display any negativity", but over the course of five years, watched her parents' attitudes completely change in a positive way. He just filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against the Aquaman star claiming her accusations were "an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity" for her and "advance her career". The case has shown that Amber Heard has in fact admitted to the abuse while being under oath. "Then Ms. Heard, [a friend], and Whitney Heard all laughed", the court documents state. Fans have been apologising to the actor for accusing him of abuse.

The lawsuit alleges incidents where Heard thew a bottle of vodka at Depp, which resulted in an injury to his hand requiring surgery, punching Depp as he was in bed, kicking him on numerous occasions, and even staging her own attacks.

Her disappearance sparked a huge investigation involving Portuguese police and Scotland Yard, which is still pursuing leads. According to Variety , the documentary will feature new interviews from more than 40 people who are involved with the case.

The lawsuit came after Heard wrote an op-ed in December 2018 for the Washington Post titled, "I spoke up against sexual violence - and faced our culture's wrath".

"All the stuff you heard past year about Johnny, 99 percent was just bull", Cooper claimed. "Heard of Mr. Depp's 40-page, evidence-packed complaint".
