Dolan says banned Knicks fan set up an 'ambush'

What’s behind James Dolan’s comments on ‘game-changer’ summer for Knicks and more from staggering interview

Dolan completed a staggering, 47-minute long ESPN Radio interview in which he said he had been ambushed over the weekend in an incident with a fan that went viral after he banned him from Madison Square Garden; he again said he wasn't selling the Knicks; he claimed a conspiracy by some in the National Basketball Association trying to thwart the.

Dolan appeared on ESPN's The Michael Kay Show on Tuesday and called the interaction an "ambush" and one that the fan planned to do as the video quickly appeared on TMZ.

"The ban is only coming from the fact that he planned it", Dolan said. "They were stalking me".

Before the end of the Knicks' 102-94 loss to the Kings on Saturday, Dolan was exiting the court area when a fan yelled for him to sell the team.

"Do you really think I should sell the team?" Dolan begins. "You wanna not come to any more games?" then adding that the comment was rude.

John Brown Is Going to Buffalo
Prior to Baltimore, Brown spent the first four seasons of his National Football League career with the Arizona Cardinals. He got off to a torrid start, but his production dropped once quarterback Lamar Jackson took over under center.

"No, it's not an opinion. And you know what, enjoy watching them on TV".

When the fan protested by saying he was just stating his opinion, Dolan answered: "No, it's not an opinion". Dolan pointed to the speed at which the video was posted to TMZ as a reason to believe the fans had premeditated the ambush. According to TMZ, security and police questioned the man before asking him to leave the arena.

On Tuesday, Dolan said he had originally planned to invite the fan back and let him meet the players while trying to show him that his team was moving in the right direction. Dolan justified his decision by saying people can not come to Madison Square Garden looking for a confrontation. Dolan said he didn't like being told to "quit".

It's unclear what Dolan plans to do with the assets his team has now, but it seems like he's banking on a bountiful free-agent harvest for now.
