Ferrari F8 Tributo: 488 Successor Revealed with 720hp!

Ferrari doesn't say it, but the F8 Tributo is obviously a comprehensive facelift of the 488 GTB rather than an all-new model. It still has a V8, but now it's been tuned to put out about 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque, 50 hp more than the 488 GTB and about the same as the limited-edition 488 Pista, which debuted at Geneva a year ago.

That power comes from an updated version of the familiar turbocharged 3,9-litre V8 (boasting what the firm describes as an "evocative soundtrack"), here generating 530 kW and 770 N.m ... the same as the special-series 488 Pista. The blown spoiler also creates yet more downforce over the old auto, wrapping around the rear lights, and we're now back to Ferraris with twin-clusters. Over the past few months, 488 mules have been spied testing what should be a hybrid powertrain, which was said to be scheduled for introduction in a mid-engined V8 hybrid supercar later this year.

Out with the old, in with the new: today Ferrari unveiled the F8 Tributo - the successor to the 488 GTB.

Once again, we'll mention that we see the F8 Tributo as a Pista for the "masses" (the latter is an uber-limited edition, remember?).

Fed's Powell: US inflation to fall further below target
GDP is now about $20 trillion, suggesting the Fed's balance sheet would be between $3.2 trillion and $3.4 trillion. As recently as a few months ago it had expected to keep shrinking its portfolio for another couple of years.

Cast your eyes to the back and you'll spot an all-new rear wing and two homages to the F40 - twin-pod rear lights and the louvred Lexan engine cover sheltering the thunderous V8 powerplant beneath. 0-100kmph takes just 2.8 seconds (0.2-seconds faster than the 488 GTB) and has a top speed of 340kmph (+10kmph).

Ferrari has revealed the first official photographs of the F8 Tributo, the new mid-rear-engined sports vehicle that represents the highest expression of the company's classic two-seater berlinetta. The dry weight is a stated 2,932 lbs with undisclosed "lightweight options" equipped. The front fascia of the F8 is characterized by the S-Duct, a feature that made its debut on the 488 Pista and contributes an impressive 15% to the overall increase in downforce compared to the 488 GTB.

The more compact, horizontal LED headlights allowed new brake cooling intakes to be inserted above them, with the result being improved airflow throughout the wheel arch. Still, Ferrari says every element of the dash, door panels, and tunnel has been redesigned.

As well as a glovebox - missing from the Pista - the passenger now also gets a seven-inch touchscreen display.
