The attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF men was claimed by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

The article stated that Islamabad and New Delhi were "long among the world's most antagonistic neighbours" and that it was fortunate they found "the good sense to de-escalate".

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said no militant group would be allowed to operate from Pakistani soil to carry out attacks overseas, days after his government announced a sweeping crackdown against Islamist militant organisations.

"This government will not allow Pakistan's land to be used for any kind of outside terrorism", Khan said on Friday while addressing a public rally in southern Pakistan.

This starts with cracking down on the JeM and other terrorist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba which was responsible for the 2008 Mumbai terror attack, Mr Bera said, adding that unfortunately, Pakistan's behaviour towards these terrorist groups have been contradictory and self-defeating. "This has caused the worldwide community to isolate Pakistan", Mr Bera said. It is, however, unclear whether this "preventative detention", as Pakistan described it, will lead to criminal prosecutions and justice being served, he said.

Khan also spoke about the security of the minorities in Pakistan and said that his country stood with them unlike India where "the minorities were being targeted".

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and former United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-Moon are also expected at the star-studded affair. On Sunday, both the families will come together for the wedding reception at the Jio World Centre in BKC.

In a press briefing held on the sidelines of the annual National People's Congress legislative meeting, Yi said: "China has stressed from the beginning the need to exercise calm and restraint, prevent an escalation, find out what has happened, and resolve the matter through dialogue".

The drastic measures were taken after Pakistan faced increasing pressure to act against the groups which carried out the suicide bombing in India on February 14.

Pakistan has a history of using Islamist groups to pursue foreign policy aims in the region, but it has denied Indian accusations it actively supports militants fighting Indian forces in India's part of Muslim-majority Kashmir.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar, at a media briefing, also said that an Indian Air Force MiG-21 Bison, piloted by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, shot down a Pakistan Air Force F-16 fighter aircraft and there were eyewitness accounts and electronic evidence for it.

On February, 28 India handed over a dossier to Pakistan on details regarding Pulwama attack.
