But today, the official promo video of the phone leaked that revealed one of the biggest surprises related to the phone.

All that was included in OPPO's announcement was a launch date on April 10, and a subscription link to stay updated on the release.

It's a trend for most companies to have sub-brands or spin-offs. According to several rumors on Weibo, this new smartphone would include Qualcomm's latest processor, the Snapdragon 855, but also the new 10x zoom technology. Early Monday, Shen Yiren, VP at Oppo took to Weibo to reveal the name of the sub-brand along with a caption stating that the first phone in Reno's catalog will be launched soon. The logo is very colourful suggesting that the phones released under this brand will be targeted towards the youth.

Oppo has officially announced the launch of a new sub-brand for the smartphone industry.

Incidentally, the news about Reno comes just days after OPPO's Shin Yiren had indicated that OPPO is working on a new flagship class device (likely the OPPO Find Z).

It is pertinent to note that OPPO already has a successful sub-brand called Realme in India.
