Pilot in Sala crash did not complete training

TRAGIC Sala's plane went down in the English Channel

It has emerged Mr Ibbotson had begun studying for a commercical pilot's licence in December 2012, at Cranfield Aviation Training School near Milton Keynes, but dropped out of the course in July 2014 before he completed it.

David Ibbotson, who has still not been found, was not licensed to carry paying passengers, which has fuelled speculation the flight was illegal.

Ibbotson's body has still not been found.

Sala was being taken from Nantes, in France, to Cardiff when the plane crashed into the sea on January 21, and the wreckage was found off Guernsey on February 6.

The crash occurred two days after Sala completed a club record £15 million transfer from French club Nantes to Cardiff City, which plays in the Barclay's Premier League in the UK.

It follows the publication of an interim report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch last Monday which found that Mr Ibbotston, 59, held a private licence in the U.S. and United Kingdom, meaning he was not allowed to carry paying passengers.

It meant he was not licenced to carry paying passengers within the European Union for financial gain but only on a cost-sharing basis.

But more investigation was need about Mr Ibbotson's pilot experience, the report added.

Williams told Trump that students would continue to defend him so long as he defended them. The altercation broke out on Upper Sproul Plaza on UC Berkeley campus, according to UCPD.

McKay reportedly said "Emi wasn't paying anything" and that he was going to pay "whatever Dave (Henderson) was going to charge".

Mr Ibbotson would have had be be making the journey already and to tell Sala when the plane was leaving.

Mr McKay said Mr Henderson was someone who he used to organise flights.

The revelation raises questions over whether the flight was legal.

McKay is said to have threatened to "kill everybody" at the club, after being embroiled in the complexities that came following the tragic incident, as report the Telegraph. "I trusted David, I had no reason not to", said Mr McKay.

He added: "I was just thinking about getting the boy home, which he wanted".

He said Mr Ibbotson returned in 2016 with the intention of resuming his training, but never followed it further. "I don't hold anyone responsible because it's just a tragic accident".

McKay was the man who booked the Malibu Piper flight to take Sala from Nantes back to Cardiff, in time for his first training session with his new club after a £15million switch.
