The eight and final season of Game of Thrones is headed our way on April 14 and no one is more excited than super fan Stephen Colbert.

"This show was a big cultural definer for the 2010's".

"So we can blame you for where we are right now", Colbert joked in an oblique reference to contemporary United States politics, to which Harington agreed and said King Joffrey (one of the most hated villains on the show) may have been an inspiration for some politicians.

Kit Harington said Game Of Thrones "kind of screwed the political landscape" after politicians tried to emulate a character from the hugely popular show.

"By making the Lannisters an acceptable form of ruling family?"

Sen. Martha McSally says she was raped by Air Force superior officer
In a statement, McSally replied: "He is a troubled man who I have forgiven, and I hope he finds God's peace and grace". During the midterm elections, she lost a bid to fill the seat for Republican former Sen.

Colbert, for his part, had no shortage of creative ideas about how the series would end, including a George R.R. Martin cameo and a dramatic crossover with the Avengers. "And things went a little bit wrong".

"He's got the hair", Colbert joked, referring to Trump, who has hair that's similar to Baratheon's light-colored locks.

The British star also made it clear that his wife and former costar Rose Leslie will remain in the dark regarding the finale, as she urged him to spoil the season 7 finale for her, only to regret it later.

Harington said that of the entire cast, he was the last to learn just how the show, which is known for its twists and turns, ended - simply because he was too lazy to read the scripts.
