Report Teddy Bridgewater will re-sign with Saints

NFL Network's Jane Slater reported Tuesday morning that Bridgewater chose the Saints over the Miami Dolphins, a team with a likely need for a new starting quarterback, though the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reported that the Dolphins "weren't big players" for Bridgewater.

Bridgewater played on 71 snaps last season, most of which came during New Orleans' Week 17 loss to the Panthers when he went 14-of-23 for one touchdown and an interception.

In his first full season back after suffering a gruesome knee injury in training camp in 2016, Bridgewater impressed during the preseason with the Jets.

Bridgewater, 26, had an 11-5 record and a playoff appearance in 2015, his second season with the Vikings. However, his career was derailed for almost two full seasons after a gruesome left knee injury in the summer of 2016 that included a torn ACL and other structural damage.

Prosecutors said at a press conference Tuesday this was typically achieved by claiming a learning disability. Huffman and Loughlin are expected to be among the dozens arrested as part of this alleged scheme.

Bridgewater spent three seasons with the Vikings after Minnesota drafted him in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

We don't yet know the terms of Bridgewater's contract with the Saints.

He started the final game of the season past year for the Saints and threw for 118 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a loss to the Panthers.
