Announcing the news tonight, they said: 'It is with the deepest sorrow we have to announce that on Sunday 7th April Mya-Lecia Naylor, very sadly, died.

"We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends". "Sending love to everyone at this sad time".

Her costar, Emily Atack, also spoke out on Instagram, writing, "She was a lovely and talented girl".

"A complete joy to be around on the set of Almost Never", Atack continued about Naylor.

Alice Webb, director of BBC Children's which includes CBBC, said news of Naylor's death had left her team "distraught and so terribly sad".

Emily Atack, who starred with Mya-Lecia in the CBBC show Almost Never, said she was "a attractive and talented girl".

The actress was best known for appearing on two teen-oriented shows on the BBC network: Millie Inbetween and Almost Never.

She said: "Although I did not know her personally, I wanted to send my condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at this hard time".

The cause of Mya-Lecia's death has not yet been revealed.

Naylor played the leader of a rival girl band, which she enjoyed, because it gave her the chance to perform.

She got her start in acting as a 2-year-old with a cameo in BBC show Absolutely Fabulous as character Jane in 2004.

Mya also appeared in Hollywood film Cloud Atlas, which stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry. "She was hugely popular with our audience, a very talented actress, dancer and singer, and a real role model for her young fans". Writing on Instagram, she described the teenager as a "beautiful girl".

In February 2019, Comicbook.com reported that one of Naylor's posts about "The Witcher" had been deleted.

The last post on Mya's Instagram account was created eight hours before her death was confirmed.

As news of Naylor's tragic passing spread, her fans have taken to social media en masse to mourn.
