As the report mentions that she was found during a worldwide search, the character must be quite important to the show.

American Gods actor Pablo Schreiber has been tapped as the lead in Halo, 's anticipated series based on the Xbox video game franchise. His other television credits include American Gods and The Wire, and his film credits include First Man, Skyscraper, and Den of Thieves.

After being in development for years, it looks like the Halo TV series on Showtime is finally starting to get off the ground. It's worth noting that Master Chief never takes his helmet off in the Halo games - something I doubt the TV series is going to stick to.

Schrieber played the infamous George "Pornostache" Mendez, in Orange is the New Black, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy.

Showtime says their Halo series will dramatize "an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant", and that the show "will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future".

Also arriving as part of the HALO cast is newcomer Yerin Ha (THE CHANGELING, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN), who is set to play a new character to the Halo universe. Quan is a shrewd, audacious 16-year-old from the Outer Colonies who meets Schreiber's Master Chief at a fateful time for both characters. Though Ha doesn't have much experience on TV, Showtime was apparently impressed by her work on the Australian stage. It will be made in association with Microsoft's 343 Industries, which spearheaded development after Bungie. It was beaten to the punch by 2012's Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn mini-series.
