Yes, Kate McKinnon has signed on to star in a drama series for the streamer, called The Dropout, and she'll be playing none other than Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos fame. The source podcast from ABC News dove deeply into both Holmes' upbringing and the quieter parts of Theranos' roughly 15 years of existence; those details were relatively glossed over in HBO's The Inventor documentary, which, while entertaining and informative, played more like a quick-and-dirty primer to the tale. Holmes was the toast of Silicon Valley before it was discovered the technology she boasted about didn't actually work. Wealthy investors who fell for Holmes' scheme and poured money into the company include Betsy DuVos and Rupert Murdock.

Following the report, Walgreens ended its blood-testing partnership with the company as Theranos came under investigation by the FBI, the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Holmes and her former chief operating officer were ultimately indicted "on nine counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for distributing blood tests with falsified results to consumers".

Hulu is now closing a deal on the series, according to the report.

Hulu did not immediately return Fox News' request Thursday for comment or confirmation on the new series.

A film version of "Bad Blood", the book by Wall Street Journal reporter John Carreyrou which chronicles Theranos' eventual demise, is in development, with Jennifer Lawrence set to star as Holmes, "Vice" director Adam McKay pegged to direct, and "The Shape of Water" co-writer Vanessa Taylor penning the script.
