Kurt Busch: I would've wrecked my brother to win

Ty Dillon outraced Clint Bowyer on a restart to win the first stage at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Busch grabbed his third Cup win of the season, eighth overall at Bristol, and 10th this year spanning all three of NASCAR's national series.

"That one's tough, I really wanted to beat him", Kurt commented in a post-race interview with FS1. Twenty laps later, Bowyer's fast No. 14 Ford got back around him for the lead. I'm like, 'I better go.' I got up there, was able to make some ground. "I'm glad it didn't turn out that way".

After the race, Kurt told his brother of his intentions. They'd inherited the lead as the first in line not to pit for tires during the 11th caution, and it set up a final shootout between Bristol's two winningest active drivers. A second debris caution occurred on lap 376 before starting back seven laps later with Kyle Busch leading.

Kurt Busch is a six-time victor at the.533-mile, high-banked oval and lamented the loss over the PA system. Blaney finished second, followed by Ryan Newman, Keselowski, Kyle and Kurt Busch, Chris Buescher, Bowyer, Austin Dillon, and Daniel Suárez.

But Kurt Busch's Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet never quite got to the bumper of the Kyle's No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

"I told him how frustrated I was I was going to wreck him", he said. "I was going to wreck him", Kurt Busch said. "I love this place", Busch said. I wanted that one bad.

Logano and Keselowski have scored three wins so far this season while Blaney is still seeking his first trip to victory lane.

He has won three times this season and his JGR team has five wins through eight races this season. If a Gibbs vehicle doesn't win, then a Ford from Team Penske has, and that organization has the other three Cup victories this year. There is so much going on, the drivers don't know what's going on and NASCAR don't know what's going on.

Caroline Wozniacki, Madison Keys to play clay-court final in Charleston
Wozniacki grabbed another 4-2 lead in the second set but the 16th seeded Martic bounced back to level the set at 4-4. Break-point chances came for Wozniacki at 3-2 and 4-3, but Keys held firm to take the opener into a breaker.

Kyle Busch is the defending race victor, and his Gibbs teammate Erik Jones is racing for a $1 million donation to Children's Miracle Network through the Ace Hardware Foundation if he wins. I didn't think we would inherit the lead. "That made it a little bit easier on us". "Boogity! Boogity! Let's go racing, boys!" call from the flag stand.

But it was Kyle Busch who would remain in control and eventually take the chequered flag.

Like him or not, Kyle Busch has been the modern-day master of Bristol. The effort from Busch and crew chief Adam Stevens drew praise from owner Joe Gibbs.

"I told him you can't tell people you're going to wreck them before you do it because when the roles are reversed, that person is going to wreck you because you already told them that you were going to wreck them", Kyle said sarcastically. "He says, 'Oh really?' I said, 'Yes I was'". However, the Fords had more speed and ran him down and passed him.

So it was fitting, then, that he found himself out front in an entertaining, old-fashioned Bristol barnburner.

Kyle Busch continues to prove why he is the guy to beat in the Monster Energy Cup Series. But success is measured in the Cup series, and the younger Busch has trophies to collect to catch Waltrip. I've seen it work more times than not. We're getting there and it's fun.

Kevin Harvick has been penalized before the start of Sunday's race at Bristol Motor Speedway because his vehicle failed inspection three times. Blaney reclaimed the lead by beating his teammates off pit road following the stops at the end of the second stage.

"With three laps to go, (the car) stepped out in turn one and I wasn't close enough after that". You just try to get away from him.
