Massive Fire Breaks Out on 2019 Coachella Festival Campgrounds

A fire broke out during the first night of Coachella, with social media footage appearing to show a row of showers in the campground ablaze.

The popular music festival, held in the Palm Springs Desert, draws crowds from around the world yearly, allowing attendees to camp near the concert site.

The Riverside County fire department tweeted, "Firefighters responded to reports of a mobile shower unit on fire".

Cue the Fyre Festival puns. No reported injuries to fire personnel or civilians.

House Democrats set hard deadline for Trump to cough up tax returns
He claimed - and has continued to claim - that he could not make his tax returns public because they were under audit by the IRS. Last week, the acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney told Fox News Sunday that Democrats will "never" see Trump's tax returns.

Fire crews quickly got the blaze under control with minimal property damage. Reportedly the explosion took place in the mobile shower unit of the campsite, destroying 1 trailer and damaging another.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but reports have been made claiming that a mechanical unity that heats the showers failed and sparked the fire.

The festival continues on Saturday with top-billed sets from Tame Impala, Billie Eilish and many others.
