The organization expelled him previous year, along with comedian Bill Cosby, in response to growing condemnation involving sexual assault allegations.

Roman Polanski is asking a judge to restore his membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after he was expelled for misconduct past year.

Polanski's lawyer Harland Braun filed papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court stating the claim was against the director's expulsion was unfair and wants to "redress the Academy's improper administrative action" to "summarily expel" Polanski.

Polanski's suit says the Academy's expulsion decision "is not supported by findings, and the Academy's findings are not supported by evidence". Almost one year later, he has filed a lawsuit, alleging that the Academy had failed to follow its own rules when ousting a member from their ranks, according to Deadline.

The academy didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.

'No collusion, no obstruction' Trump declares victory as Mueller report published
The president's prediction, written down by an aide and contained in the 448 pages of the Mueller report, has not come to pass. Mueller concluded that there was no evidence of collusion by Trump , anyone on his campaign, or any USA citizen.

He fled the USA for Europe more than 40 years ago after pleading guilty to unlawful sex with a minor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Braun argues that although the Academy let Polanski petition for reconsideration, it failed to give him an opportunity to be heard on the matter, which he contends is a violation of its policies.

The controversial director just filed a lawsuit, obtained by The Blast, claiming the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences didn't follow proper protocol when they kicked him out as a member.

The film academy is standing behind its decision to expel director Roman Polanski, who has asked a court to reinstate him.
