Grease Prequel Summer Loving Is Happening at Paramount

Paramount Players is developing a Grease prequel, titled Summer Loving, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A prequel to the 1978 movie musical Grease (itself based on the Broadway musical) is in the works.

The original Grease-which itself was based on the 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey-starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as a greaser named Danny and a brainy transfer student named Sandy who strike up a romance over one fateful summer; star-crossed high school lovers who literally rode a flying vehicle into pop culture history.

Wynn was proposing to buy the company half in cash, half in shares, and the current proposal had not gone to the Crown board. It is understood Crown Resorts called in its bankers at UBS for advice about one month ago before rebuffing the approach.

The movie musical picked up back at school after Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) met over the summer, with both characters spilling the beans about that fateful meeting to their friends during one of the movie's most iconic songs "Summer Nights".

August most recently has been apart of the Aladdin writing team, Disney's live-action remake of its classic animated movie that opens May 24.

In 2016, a live for TV version of the original movie starring Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens won five Emmy Awards. He's he worked on Guillermo Del Toro's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
