Tiger's declining putting? 'I can’t practice like I used to'

As defending Masters champion, Patrick Reed is tasked with putting together Tuesday night's Champions Dinner menu at Augusta National.

Winning a Masters is about as meaningful as it gets when it comes to professional golf.

Since Woods made his Masters debut in 1995 until a rainy practice round on Tuesday, the American has been the main attraction at the year's first major.

Woods conceded that he does not have the advantage of extra length over the field that gave him such a huge advantage in his prime, but he does have the benefit of playing Augusta National in all types of conditions - a knowledge that could be a crucial asset with the weather forecast uncertain for all four tournament days.

For golf fans it is a dry spell that is hard to comprehend and for Woods one he admits he never saw coming. I would say I wouldn't have foreseen that, for sure.

"I just feel like that I've improved a lot over the past 12, 14 months, but I've more than anything just proven to myself that I can play at this level again".

Anthony Davis Wears Perfect T-Shirt For Final Pelicans Game
That'll happen on Tuesday night in New Orleans when the Pelicans close out their year against the Golden State Warriors . It's up in the air if he will play - he's listed as probable - but Davis still made an apparent fashion statement.

As Thursday's first round approaches Tiger-mania is picking up steam. And it should have more meaning to Woods, who has been plagued by slow starts over the past two years since returning from spinal fusion surgery. He shot a first-round 65 last September on his way to his 80th PGA Tour victory at the Tour Championship.

"I feel like I can win", he said prior to his 22nd Masters appearance. You can get on one of these hot rounds and make up some shots, like I did in '05 against Chris [DiMarco]. I just have to figure it out and try to create a good balance to find a prep of what I need to work on.

Nowhere does the Tiger mystique hang over an event more than at the Masters. That is, which golfer's legacy would we think about most differently if they were to win this week at Augusta National?

"I know that I can play this golf course", he said.

"I had a lot of success".

Spieth and a group of family and friends were waiting to watch the NCAA Tournament championship game when his father pointed out the Golf Channel was re-airing the 2015 Masters, which Spieth won.
