"Thank you for the support".

Shortly after the trailer dropped online earlier this month, social media trolls immediately scolded the look and design of Sonic, arguing he either looked too animated or he did not match the video game character's image, such as his bizarrely human teeth.

The timing is just a happy coincidence, of course, as the real reason Paramount delayed the movie, originally slated for a November 8 release, has to do with the outcry that followed the trailer's release at CinemaCon three weeks ago. Second things second: the delay is a wise move, because Sonic's design in the trailer - in particular, those terrible, terrifying, humanlike teeth - was kind of nightmarish, and didn't look much like the iconic hedgehog beloved to gamers around the world (we're not sure how Fowler failed to realize that, either). It's going to happen. "Everyone at Paramount and Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be..."

Director Jeff Fowler said on Twitter the extra time will be taken to make Sonic look "just right".

The windows broke and he dove behind the washers and dryers. "Major tornadoes across the state tonight, including Jeff City", Gov. Police Chief Delmar Haase said almost three dozen homes had significant damage and several people sustained minor injuries.

Most fans were extremely positive about the delayed release date.

Parks And Recreation's Ben Schwartz, who partially provided the sound of BB-8 in the newest Star Wars trilogy, voices the extraterrestrial hedgehog. Are you looking forward to the new Sonic character design? Even details such as his gloves were missed by fans, many of whom were left wondering if the team behind the movie had played Sonic at all.

As long as Fowler stays on track, Sonic fans won't have to worry about feeling blue this Valentine's Day. In general, he looked just like a kid in a Sonic costume.
