Amidst the chaos of the post-Ferguson years, Ed Woodward, the executive vice-chairman at the club, is understood to be in the process of restructuring the organisation off the pitch.

United have come under fire in recent weeks and months for prioritising personnel with a history at the club rather than a history of successfully doing the job they're being sounded out for, but the Mail report that they're leaning into that tendency by bringing the six-time Premier League victor back.

The move may be viewed cynically by many who see United's change in structure and search for a sporting director as little more than an attempt to appease fans, before inevitably bringing in what amounts to little more than an ambassador in a technical-sounding role with no power over decisions whatsoever. He did a two-year sporting director course, Steve Round did that course, which gives you a great insight.

The plan is for a more collegiate approach, of the kind adopted by rivals Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, that involves manager Solskjaer and his immediate coaching staff in addition to an incoming technical director and existing figures such as chief scout Jim Lawlor and Marcel Bout, the head of global scouting.

Evans took to Twitter shortly after the video went public to reveal that he "may or may not" have some videos of his own. The Avengers Compound was all but leveled when Thanos came knocking, and it seemed like he could take another victory.

He is also said to be impressed with the former defender's business experience since retiring from football, which includes a clothing company and a restaurant.

Bryan Robson would be a fantastic choice in that position for me.

Manchester United have never appointed someone for the position in the past so it makes sense to hire someone who has the experience. There is a ready-made man for them.
