Cillessen wants to leave Barcelona this summer

Goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has been playing second fiddle to Marc-Andre ter Stegen for all of his Barcelona career and the Dutch worldwide is not happy with the playing time he's getting.

Attention now switches to the Champions League where Marc Andre ter Stegen is likely to remain between the sticks.

Since his arrival at the Camp Nou in 2016, the shot-stopper has made just 28 first-team appearances, keeping 13 clean sheets along the way.

Will Cillessen leave Barcelona?

Barcelona could replace the keeper however with another Ajax youngster as some reports have claimed that the La Liga winners could sign 21-year-old Andre Onana as his replacement.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, Cillessen confessed his time at the club is coming to an end in the near future.

But that hasn't stopped Cillessen recommending a Barcelona move for compatriot Matthijs de Ligt.

This season may well be Cillessen's last in a Barca shirt and the Blaugrana are eyeing another treble as they are still in contention for Copa del Rey and Champions League honours.

"I would say [to De Ligt]: 'Who wouldn't want to play here?' If a player gets the chance to come to Barcelona, everyone would want that", the Dutchman told Ziggosport, before adding that he would soon be looking for a new home.

"That's how it is but you never know".
