Downton Abbey opens its doors to royals in new trailer

Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey

The first official trailer for the Downton Abbey movie contains nearly nothing in the way of story (a royal luncheon!) but that's not what we're going back for, is it?

Focus Features have just dropped the trailer that we have been waiting for and it does not disappoint!

Wanna watch something? Moviefone gives you full access to the entertainment universe, from movie theaters to streaming services and all screens in between.

Actors Maggie Smith, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern and Laura Carmichael are all seen reprising their roles as Crawley family members, and Jim Carter, who played head butler Mr Carson in the series, also returns.

Set in 1927, the film will follow the household's adventures as they await the arrival of the king and queen of England.

Rapper Tyler, the Creator forced to cancel United Kingdom gig
Tyler's tweet incited massive crowds blocking the street and a few individuals climbing gates. "They go [t] nervous". According to a now-deleted post, the rapper claimed it got "Too rowdy, cops canceled it, go home".

"Mrs. Patmore, please prepare some of those corns that go pop".

If that doesn't put you in the warm and buttery mood for more Downton Abbey, I'm not sure what else will.

The Crawleys are back - and they have some royal company.

The film, which is released in cinemas in September, sees writer-creator Julian Fellowes setting up the Crawley family to welcome the most important guests in Downton's history.

Direct Michael Engler is a veteran of the show, having helmed four episodes including the two-hour 2015 Christmas special which doubled as the series finale. The first teaser arrived in December around the Holidays.
