There have been strong rumours that the Wales global will leave Madrid this summer and Spurs have been talked up as a potential destination.

There is expected to be plenty of transfer activity at Madrid in the coming months after a disappointing season which saw Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari both fired, before the club finished some 19 points off the pace in LaLiga under the guidance of the returning Zinedine Zidane.

Mido is among those to share that opinion, with the Egyptian disappointed by Real's handling of a proven performer and talk of a world-class talent having lost his appetite for the game. We are told where to be, when to be there, what time we have to eat, what time we have to go to the coach.

"I've always known Gareth as a top professional, he gave everything for Tottenham and gave everything for Real Madrid and I believe he deserves more respect". I remember his first day at Tottenham, I was there and I remember him being shown around the training ground with his mum and dad as a young boy.

"I try to play golf as much as I can".

Donovan McNabb Makes His Case For The Pro Football Hall Of Fame
Whether he likes it or not, winning a Super Bowl greatly improves the chances of a player getting into the hall of fame. That might serve to explain some of what troubles the former Philadelphia Eagle , who retired after the 2011 season.

Sources told ESPN FC in April that the 2018 World Cup victor was seriously considering seeking a new challenge, which alerted clubs throughout Europe including United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.

Mido, though, believes that familiar surroundings would be the best choice at this career crossroads.

But when he was asked whether he understood retired players saying they got their life back, Bale replied: 'Yeah definitely because as a professional athlete - especially in a team environment - you don't get to choose your schedule, maybe like a golf or a tennis player.

"He needs to feel loved and people love him at Tottenham".

Real Madrid are likely to offer him a new contract soon in order to make him one of the best-paid players at the club.
