Devolver E3 2019: Fall Guys, Carrion, Bootleg & More

Devolver Bootleg

Devolver Bootleg

That officially wraps up the first day of press conferences at E3 2019, with plenty more to come. This year, Devolver Digital's schtick is to do without a conference and just create a video project, the Devolver Direct.

Fictional character Nina Struthers is back but barely living as the conference takes place inside her mind, bringing in a slew of new indie announcements with a flavouring of self-awareness. In Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, 100 players are trying to reach a crown at the end of an obstacle-filled level. Check out the launch trailer below.

If there's one thing Devolver consistently does right, it's taking a joke too far and turning it into a reality.

Completely on-brand for Devolver comes an 8-in-1 collection of "bootleg" games. The idea being that instead of fighting a ugly monster, you are the disgusting monster.

Ubisoft's press conference will kick off June 10 at 9am BST (or that's 1pm PT, 4pm ET, 10pm CEST if you're not in the UK). With E3 in full swing, Bethesda took to the stage to show off new gameplay for the wildly anticipated DOOM Eternal .

"Carrion is a reverse horror game that takes on the role of an amorphous creature of unknown origin", reads the synopsis of the game available on Steam. The game features a gorgeous pixel art style and looks like an absolute blast. The game will hit PC and consoles sometime in 2020. Enter the Gungeon: House of the Gundead is an actual, physical arcade cabinet coming out in 2020.

This is real. You can play these games now by heading to Steam and parting with around £4.

Developed by Phobia Games Studios, the trailer shows the chaos in action as the creature stomps and smashes through the facility decimating everything in its path.

Finally, Picnic Panic is an upcoming expansion for retro platformer The Messenger.
