Scholastic announced Monday that Collins would publish a new book as a prequel to the dystopian trilogy that includes The Hunger Games (2008), Catching Fire (2009) and Mockingjay (2010).

"As the proud home of the Hunger Games movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne's next book to be published", Drake said.

On top of that, producer Nina Jacobson also quote-tweeted Scholastic's announcement with "cat's out of the bag", most likely indicating that she will be returning to manage this film adaptation much like she did the original trilogy.

Are you excited for the Hunger Games prequel? The novel is set to be released on May 19th, 2020. It means that the upcoming novel prequel will cover what first Hunger Games were like and in what way Panem dealt with the consequences of the war.

According to Collins, the book will explore the repercussions of the "Dark Days" - the period when some of the districts of Panem rebelled against the Capitol.

Agony for Scotland as late Argentina penalty drama ends World Cup dream
Scotland and Argentina go head to head in a do-or-die match that will decide their destiny in this current Women's World Cup. Crichton, with a heavy challenge on Jaimes, also demonstrated that there was finally more bite in the Scottish midfield.

The original books sold more than 65 million copies in the USA alone and spawned a multibillion-dollar blockbuster film franchise starring Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence as arrow-slinging heroine Katniss Everdeen, as well as Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Like Katniss, she won the Hunger Games as a teenager.

Given the fact that the four films made nearly $3 billion at the worldwide box office, we think the studio is very interested in adapting the new novel.

Back in 2017 Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said he was interested in reviving both Twilight and The Hunger Game if the original writers had the ideas - which now seems to have come to pass. Mags competed in the 11th Hunger Games, so...the book is totally about Mags. The book (obviously not the final title) "will revisit the world of Panem sixty-four years before the events of The Hunger Games, on the morning of the reaping of the Tenth Hunger Games".

If you know nothing about "The Hunger Games", well, where have you been?
