Meizu 16Xs will make you question $1,000 flagships

The 16s has some unbelievable features and is nicely priced at US$476.

Meizu just announced its latest mid-range Meizu 16Xs phone in China. The device by now isnt exactly a surprise, as we already know virtually all that pertains it, thanks in part to the series of leaks and of course to the drip-drip of incessant information from the manufacturer itself. It features a fingerprint scanner sitting beneath the display. The phone also comes with 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Meizu says the screen-to-body ratio on this device is 90.29%. Meizu is calling this display as Extreme bezel-less display as it comes with no notch or bezels. It's something that is "safe" for the eyes because it filters out 33% of the harmful blue light, therefore, less strain and less eye fatigue. There is a primary 48 Megapixel camera with Samsung GM1 sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 6P Lens & PDAF.

On the back of this device you'll find a camera system with a Samsung S5KGM1 sensor. This happens when the field of view of the lens is wider than the size of the sensor. Whether capturing a landscape or shooting attractions, it is able to produce extremely impactful and perspective photos. The device will also support facial recognition. Also, if you like our efforts, consider sharing this story with your friends, this will encourage us to bring more exciting updates for you.

As far as performance, the 16Xs is using the Snapdragon 675 CPU and it's nice to see the company migrating to Snapdragon CPUs.

Factory activity in China contracts amid trade dispute
Employees work at a production line inside an automobile factory in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, Jan. 18, 2016. As for the manufacturing industry, large enterprises' PMI registered 50.3 in May, down 0.5 percentage points.

Meizu isn't one of the big Chinese OEMs in the worldwide market, but it's got some fantastic devices with the flagship-like specifications at comparatively affordable prices we've come to expect from Chinese companies.

Meizus 16Xs shall be offered in Midnight black, blue, coral orange and silk white colors to choose from which shall go on sale in China from June 10.

Honestly, if you can live with not having the zippiest processor, it's hard to see what the compromise is here, especially compared to other "junior flagships" like the new Pixel 3a.
