The Netflix Is A Joke Twitter account also tweeted about the success breaking down the exact numbers for the first three days.

Of those 30 million, over 13 million were from within the USA and Canada while the other 17 million or so were from across the globe. His latest project to appear on the streaming service, the Jennifer Aniston-starring 'Murder Mystery, ' has just had the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix original movie, having been watched by around 30.9 million accounts in its first 3 days.

This, Netflix declared, set a brand new record, the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix movie.

It illustrates why Netflix struck a four-movie deal with Sandler in 2014, and then renewed the deal for four more movies in 2017. However, we don't know fully what this means.

They won't be the only team that shows interest in the All-Star center, as the Lakers and Clippers are also potential suitors. Horford is coming off another strong season with the Celtics, averaging 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest.

Sandler and his production company, Happy Madison Productions, struck a four-movie deal worth millions with Netflix in 2014.

That said, Murder Mystery has taken a bit of a panning at the hands of the critics, with just 45 percent approval on Rotten Tomatoes and 38 percent on Metacritic. Netflix content boss Ted Sarandos says Sander is "one of the leading comedians in the film world".

So yeah, Netflix are having a great time.

The film reunites Aniston and Sandler to solve the murder of a billionaire aboard a yacht. Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton, and Terence Stamp costar in the film as well.
