In the film, Deepika Padukone will be seen as Ranveer Singh's on screen wife. Though initially Deepika was a bit reluctant to sign the film as it was a supporting role, she later agreed to do it. However the report also suggests that the producer went ahead and made the smashing offer, which might have lured the star to agree. While Ranveer Singh plays the role of Kapil Dev in the sports drama, Deepika has been cast in the role of the cricket legend's wife Romi Dev. She will be playing the reel wife of Ranveer Singh apart from being her real wife and life partner.

As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, the source close to Bhansali's Ranveer-Deepika starrers (Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat), wondered about the proportion of the actress' role in '83. Ranveer appeared in a cameo in Finding Fanny as Deepika's dead husband.

Deepika's involvement in the project was made official on Wednesday, through a series of social media posts by the actors and director Kabir Khan.

Changing your meat-eating habits could mean a longer life
Processed red meat - like bacon, for instance - was associated with a 13 percent higher risk of death from all causes. Cutting down on meat and replacing it with fish or chicken could add years to your life, a major study suggests.

Based on India's historic victory in the Cricket World Cup 1983, Kabir Khan's '83 is scheduled for a release on 10 April 2020. "I think Ranveer nearly convinced her, then the zeros on the cheque did the rest". Deepika wrapped up the shooting for Meghna Gulzar's Chhapaak before she flew to the UK.

Another angle doing the rounds is their happy ending in the film which the two have not got in any of their films -'Ram Leela", "Bajirao Mastani", "Padmaavat' they end up dying in the climax.
