Two dead and dozens injured after ride snaps in half at theme park

An investigator explained to the Times of India, "The ride works when the main shaft with seats at the circular end is counter-balanced by a weight".

The accident happened just a few minutes after the ride left the ground at the Kankaria Adventure Park, according to Times Now News.

"An improved national system for monitoring injuries involving amusement rides is needed. We have had continuous inspection and clearance from the authorities for the past four years and we have submitted the same to the police". "We will file a primary case of accidental death in this case".

Fire brigade spokesperson Dastoor said of the incident: "There are 32 seats in the ride that go round".

Part of the ride broke resulting in 31 people on board being crashed to the ground along with its heavy mechanism.

Police warned that others could still be charged.

"Proper treatment is being given to the injured". But he did not explain how the ride had broken, the Mirror reported. Riders were seen in shock footage crashing from the air by witnesses at Kankaria Amusement Park, located in Gujurat in India.
