Atletico Madrid sign England's Trippier

Kieran Trippier poses with his Atletico Madrid shirt after being unveiled to the media and fans.

Tottenham Hotspur allowed Kieran Trippier to complete a switch to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday and are now left with Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters as the other two recognised right-backs in the squad.

The central defender has agreed a five-year contract and his arrival comes just a day after Atletico completed the signing of England worldwide right-back Kieran Trippier from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of 20 million euros.

The England defender was officially presented by Atletico on Thursday afternoon after leaving Tottenham to sign for the Spanish giants on a three-year deal for a reported £20million.

And it would seem having the opportunity to work with Simeone was a major factor in Trippier's move to Madrid.

British members of parliament found past year that the M15 security service missed potential opportunities to prevent the bombing. British authorities have sought Hashem's extradition for almost two years, saying he was involved in planning the lethal attack.

'This is an wonderful feeling - I've always wanted to play overseas and what a place to play, in Madrid, ' Trippier said upon his unveiling.

"I'm looking forward to learning the language straight away which is my first priority".

Trippier has played 16 times for England scoring one goal, direct from a free kick in the World Cup semi-final loss to Croatia previous year.

His last competitive game for Spurs came in June's Champions League final defeat to Liverpool at the Wanda Metropolitano - a venue he will now be calling home.

Atletico, who finished second in La Liga last season, bid farewell to captain Diego Godin and stalwart full backs Juanfran and Filipe Luis after their contracts expired, while France defender Lucas Hernandez has moved to Bayern Munich. I've always wanted to play overseas, especially in LaLiga.
