Chris Paul trade rumors: Heat not ‘actively pursuing’ deal for Thunder guard

Chris Paul was adamant earlier this summer that he did not request a trade off the Houston Rockets, and rumors of his relationship with James Harden being "unsalvageable" were untrue.

Despite the possibility that Paul will be flipped in another deal - incentivized, perhaps, with a couple of those first-round picks - the Thunder aren't averse to keeping him and his contract on board if he's willing to stay, two league sources told B/R.

The Rockets have seemed stagnant over the past few years in a loaded Western Conference.

Paul and the Rockets tried to save face by saying that everything was good between he and the organization, but when it became clear that Westbrook could be on the trade block, Harden wanted general manager Daryl Morey to make the move for the dynamic point guard.

ESPN NBA insider Brian Windhorst detailed a telling Paul-Harden story on his emergency trade Hoop Collective podcast.

New Zealand's first gun buyback event a success, police say
Chris Cahill, from the New Zealand Police Association, which represents officers, believes the buy-back scheme will go smoothly. The amount each individual will receive will depend on the value and condition of their guns.

"Chris barked at James, and James turned to him - this was described to me by a player who was on the court - and he said, 'With you it's always f-ing something, '" Windhorst revealed.

"It's not even like it was that moment, but he's had issues in the past with his teammates", Windhorst added of Paul.

Meanwhile, this provokes further questions as to how both Westbrook and Harden-two players with some of the highest usage rates in National Basketball Association history-will coexist on the floor.

Paul, meanwhile, is off to Oklahoma City, which is primed for a big rebuild.
