Warner Bros. says a crew member died in an accident Thursday at a special effects facility in Toronto.

Special effects coordinator Warren Appleby was killed by a piece of a vehicle which broke off during testing in Toronto, Canada.

The DC Universe show Titans has been noted for its gritty fighting sequences and brutality in what it puts the characters through. "Warren was loved by all that were able to work together in its impressive 25-year career with him".

Titans is an original live-action show produced for Warner Bros.' DC streaming service, DC Universe.

Appleby was reportedly fatally injured after being hit by a piece of equipment that unexpectedly broke off during preparation and testing of an effect for an upcoming shoot for Titans, The Wrap reports. He suffered very serious injuries and died as paramedics were taking him to hospital via emergency run.

A veteran, Appleby was a special effects coordinator on films like Max Payne, IT and the Oscar-winning The Shape of Water.
