Dora and the Lost City of Gold Trailer #2 Goes Exploring for the Ultimate Treasure

The animated, jungle-trotting kid on Nickelodeon who has a monkey as a best friend and parents who are frightful at keeping track of their child?

Check out the new Dora and the Lost City of Gold trailer below, followed by the new poster. - The first line we hear Dora say in the new, second trailer for her live-action movie will sound familiar to anyone who grew up with this most famous cartoon explorer.

"Oh look, Dora brought a knife on the field trip, everybody". It's like if Lara Croft meshed with the The Rock's Jumanji, but then the two were soaked in a Value-Added Tax of tiresome jokes and family-friendly banter so Paramount could slap a PG rating on it all.

The cast is led by Isabela Moner (Sicario: Day of the Soldado) in the title role, with Michael Peña and Eva Longoria playing Dora's parents.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold also stars Eva Longoria, Temuera Morrison, and in an inspired bit of casting, Benicio del Toro as the voice of Swiper the thieving fox. Madeleine Madden and Nicholas Coombe will be portraying their high school classmates.

Chicago police investigators confirm alligator in lagoon
Visitors to the Humboldt Park lagoon are being asked to keep a distance from the water until authorities rescue the gator. If the alligator is not captured by sundown, a "trained animal specialist" will place humane bait traps, police said.

The film is produced by Christopher Robin producer Kristin Burr, who is joined by longtime Bobin associate, executive producer John G. Scotti (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted, Alice Through the Looking Glass) as well as executive producers Julia Pistor (The Spiderwick Chronicles, A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Eugenio Derbez.

With the film set for release on August 9, the only question is, will audiences get to hear the famous tag-lines and bits from the jungle-dwelling kid? Think like, the chanting from The Dark Knight Rises but it's "Swiper no Swiping".

We don't get much of a look at this city in the trailer; it offers little plot details in exchange for amusing slapstick comedy involving jungle pratfalls.

However, Dora and her monkey pal, Boots (Danny Trejo.yes, you read that correctly), must return to the jungle when she and her friends are kidnapped on a field trip and forced to help a band of greedy mercenaries track down a lost city made of gold.
