Pelosi: Not 'running out the clock' on impeachment

Maybe the call for impeachment last week was premature, but now all members of the House, and certainly all the Democrats, must call for impeachment. His committee is charged with initiating any impeachment proceedings.

Democrats capped the 200-day mark in the House majority with a long list of bills passed, but face criticism for stopping short of opening impeachment proceedings.

But Democrats have argued that while Mueller did not provide the most camera-friendly soundbites or bombshell revelations, he brought the findings of his two-year report on Russian Federation election interference and possible connections to the Trump campaign to a broader American audience.

Nadler's panel is looking into Mueller's conclusions, as well as whether Trump's businesses are profiting from his presidency.

Pelosi also said she had a "good meeting" Friday with congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a high-profile, first-term liberal Democrat who supports impeachment and has clashed with Pelosi on economic issues.

Trump Must Releases Taxes to Be on California Ballot
While the law is expected to be challenged, Trump could sidestep its requirement by not competing in the California primary. In any event, Trump campaign official Tim Murtaugh already declared that the bill was not constitutional.

U.S. Representative Adam Schiff said it was important to show the American people enough evidence to make the case for Trump's impeachment "before we go down this path because it's going to occupy a year of the nation's time".

According to early Nielsen media research, 12.9 million Americans across six cable and network channels, tuned in on Wednesday to watch Mueller's first public testimony about his two-year investigation, and whether President Donald Trump obstructed it.

The Nielsen company says Mueller's audience Wednesday was smaller than it was for well-publicized hearings involving three other Trump-era figures: former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey (19.5 million), Trump attorney Michael Cohen (15.8 million) and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh (20.4 million).
