Shock as Arsenal captain refuses to travel on club's United States tour

Laurent Koscielny has handed Unai Emery a major headache by refusing to travel for their pre-season tour of America as he wants to quit the club.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Arsenal will fine Koscielny and force him to train with the kids after his shock move.

Arsenal said they were "very disappointed by Laurent's actions" as rumours started to swirl about a potential return to his native France for the 33-year-old.

Arsenal says it was working to resolve the matter.

Koscielny is in the final year of his contract and wants the club to come to a mutual agreement to terminate his deal.

Koscielny joined Arsenal from Lorient in 2010.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare introduces 2v2 multiplayer mode, Gunfight
And since rounds are all over within about a minute, battles become just as much about mind games as about covering your teammate. We had a chance to play Gunfight last month during Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare preview event, and the mode was impressive.

Koscielny made 17 appearances in the Premier League last season after returning from a long-term Achilles injury in December. He has been linked in transfer rumors to Bordeaux, Lyon and Rennnes, among other Ligue 1 clubs.

What a mess. Koscielny hasn't conducted himself well here, and Arsenal putting this out in the open has escalated the seriousness of the situation.

Arsenal issued a statement condemning Koscielny's actions and could yet strip him of the captaincy.

While Koscielny is not the same player he once was, at 33, he was still putting in good performances previous year. William Saliba is a primary target and is a deal they are now pursuing. Well, according to the Mirror, it all stems from Koscielny being left "fuming" after holding transfer talks with Arsenal. Only time will tell in that regard, but this incident is the last thing that Arsenal needed.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have condemned "unacceptable racial abuse" suffered by 20-year-old Jordi Osei-Tutu, who is on loan from the north London club at German side VfL Bochum. If you're up to challenging the best then play now!
