"Compared to the second season, "Stranger Things 3" was an even bigger hit", Nielsen said in a press release.

Still, the high viewership for season three of "Stranger Things", would have guaranteed a fourth season, if one hadn't already been green lit by Netflix.

It's 1985, and the only thing Hawkins, Indiana, has more of than weird supernatural/pseudo-scientific phenomena is a plethora of pop culture touchstones.

The third season of the company's flagship show was watched by 40.7 million households worldwide in its first four days following its launch on July 4.

Some 5% of consumers who don't now subscribe to Netflix, for example, told the Cowen & Co. researchers they planned to do so just to watch the show. According to Netflix, 18.2 million people finished the entire season in that span. They are usually very secretive about this sort of thing. The firm found that about 51% of current Netflix users planned to watch "Stranger Things".

WarnerMedia opts for HBO Max
That price would put it higher than competitors such as Netflix ($9), Disney + ($7) and Hulu ($6). So, what exactly is HBO Max? The DC logo was also prominently featured in the video package.

Of course, by the sound of things, it also seems likely that the fourth season could be the final chapter in the Stranger Things saga.

The locker room fight scene is a particular highlight (despite Erica's negotiating abilities almost stealing the show), congregating our young adventurers at the public pool in an attempt to entrap Billy, and figure out what's going on with him.

However, season four could focus on other kids with superpowers whose fates are unknown at the moment.

Luckily, we're here to help you make sense of them all. Secondly, the third season ended with a huge cliffhanger.

Season two of Stranger Things saw Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) going on an adventure where she met another girl like her with superpowers called Kali Prasad (Linnea Berthelsen). They would anger a lot of their subscribers if they cancelled the series without tying up a lot of the loose ends that remain. While the streaming platform has yet to officially announce the next season, it's only a matter of time before they do.
