The MG ZS EV, as it will be called in the United Kingdom, is priced from 21,495 Pounds, going up to 23,495 Pounds (around ₹ 18.36-20.07 lakh), after the 3500 Pound government grant and the company's initial discount.

The first zero-emission SUV in India carries plenty of significance for the brand as it brings Hyundai firmly into the picture in terms of green mobility. More details of the new EV have now emerged online.

The auto is expected to be launched in India in the fourth quarter of 2019 as the second offering from the brand after Hector SUV.

That makes the MG over £4,000 less than the cheapest Hyundai Kona EV.

Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG, said "With the launch of our MG ZS electric SUV we're delighted to be entering the electric vehicle market at such an exciting time". With all the practicality and versatility of a compact SUV, a full-sized boot and room for five, ZS means electric without compromise.

Daniel Gregorious, Head of Sales & Marketing at MG, said, "With an exciting £21,495 price point at launch, ZS EV is a compelling option for customers who want to switch from old school petrol and diesel cars and enjoy all the wonderful benefits of electric motoring".

It's worth noting that this is most likely not the potential new Switch Pro, which will also boast upgraded components. It's a small upgrade at best, meant to squeeze some extra playtime out of the current Nintendo Switch hardware.

That battery is a water-cooled 44.5kWh unit which provides 163 miles of range.

The MG ZS EV and its lithium-ion battery are covered by the 7-year warranty.

A sliding panoramic roof, 8-inch touchscreen display with sat-nav, smartphone integration, Bluetooth and DAB radio are also included.

The ZS EV is MG's most high-tech vehicle ever, sporting Advanced Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control, as part of the MG Pilot suite of driver assistance gear, offered as standard in both grades.

MG has revealed that United Kingdom prices for launch editions of its first fully electric model, the ZS EV, will be significantly less than both the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia e-Niro. It is priced at Rs. 25.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). MG UK is now accepting pre-bookings for the ZS EV online for an amount of 500 Pounds (around ₹ 42,000).
