Afghanistan Vows to Crush Daesh Havens after Deadly Attack

Dozens killed in suicide bombing at wedding in Afghanistan

The franchise of the Islamic State (IS) group in Afghanistan, though much smaller and weaker than the Taliban, is increasingly active as it aims to prove its relevance.

Pictures on social media from the scene of the Kabul blast showed bodies strewn amid overturned table and chairs at the wedding hall, with dark blood stains on the carpet. The provincial governor blamed the Taliban for planting the device.

The Taliban has denied involvement and condemned the attack. They were the first US combat deaths reported since July 29 and bring the total of USA service members killed this year to 19, according to the iCasualties website.

10 days prior to the Kabul wedding blast, a blast outside the Kabul Police Station took place claiming the lives of 14 innocent and injuring nearly 150 people.

ISIS fighters, who first appeared in Afghanistan in 2014 and have since made inroads in the country's east and north, are not involved in the talks.

The groom who gave his name as Mirwais told local TV: "My family, my bride are in shock, they can not even speak".

Mirwais Elmi: "I've lost hope. I will never see happiness in my life again", he said. I don't care whether the government is going to light up the city.

Roeena's 11-year-old brother was killed in the terrorist attack, according to the report.

The bomber blew himself up in the men's hall.

Wedding guest Hameed Quresh told AFP the young couple were saying their vows when the bomb went off.

"For about 20 minutes the hall was full of smoke". The year before, the group bombed a Hazara-led protest, leaving more than 80 dead and hundreds wounded.

A waiter at the hall, Sayed Agha Shah, said "everybody was running" after the blast.

Known to be a conservationist, Harry said in a July interview with Vogue that the couple would likely only have two children. Hundreds of people were waiting outside Windsor Castle to hopefully catch a glimpse of Harry and Meghan on their way to St.

"Several of our waiters were killed and wounded".

"Taliban can not absolve themselves of blame, for they provide platform for terrorists", Ghani said before reports emerged that ISIS claimed responsibility, NBC News reported.

More attacks happened on Monday.

The Islamic State's affiliate in Afghanistan reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday.

While the police and army claim they prevent most bombings from happening, the fact remains that insurgents pull off horrific attacks with chilling regularity.

Ten days ago a Taliban auto bomb aimed at Afghan security forces ripped through a busy west Kabul neighborhood, killing 14 people and wounding 145 - a lot of them women, children and other civilians. In a statement in Arabic, it claimed the attack was carried out by its suicide-bomber named Abu Asim Al-Pakistani.

Celebrations for Monday's 100th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence from Britain were curtailed out of respect for the blast victims, the president's office said.

How are Afghan peace talks progressing?

Many outraged Afghans ask whether an approaching deal between the United States and the Taliban to end almost 18 years of fighting will bring peace to long-suffering civilians.

"We don't care who will make a peace deal". While the US wants Taliban assurances that Afghanistan will no longer be used as a launch pad for global terror attacks, there appear to be no guarantees of protection for Afghan civilians.

Months of U.S. -Taliban negotiations are nearing an agreement under which the U.S. would pull out half the estimated 20,000 global troops in Afghanistan in exchange for Taliban pledges not to allow the country to harbor other Islamic extremist groups. The militants have been refusing to negotiate with the Afghan government until a timetable for the United States withdrawal is agreed upon.

Taliban and American negotiators were confident to finalize the agreement during the eighth round of talks earlier this month but they could not remove difference regarding ceasefire, sources told Daily Times.
