St. Louis Cardinals infielder Jedd Gyorko
Los Angeles has acquired utilityman Jedd Gyorko from the Cardinals, according to The Athletic.
For much of the time leading up to the Major League Baseball trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers appeared to be focused on addressing an inconsistent bullpen.
The trade deadline is at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.
In a move to add infield depth by the Dodgers, Gyorko is playing on a $13 million salary this year ($5 million will owed by the Padres) and comes with a $13 million option ($1 million buyout) for next season. In addition to Gyorko, the Dodgers got worldwide cap space and cash from the Cardinals in exchange for left-handed pitcher Tony Cingrani and right-handed pitcher Jeffry Abreu.
Though he's now on the injured list, Gyorko is expected back in relatively short order.
After Trump Trashed Baltimore, Elijah Cummings Decided To Ditch HUD Facility Tour
Previously, the account has peddled lies about prominent Democrats, claiming they murder children to harvest their pineal glands. I don't have trash; I have a clean place", said the woman, who is African American and declined to give her name.
The Dodgers followed that up by trading for Kristopher Negrón in a deal with the Seattle Mariners. The Dodgers also obtain worldwide spending capacity and cash considerations in unannounced amounts.
Gyorko has a reputation as a steady defender and hitter, but has struggled at the plate this season. Los Angeles is now without infielders Chris Taylor, David Freese and Kiké Hernandez due to injury.
Cingrani, 30, has not pitched this season after undergoing left shoulder surgery and is on the 60-day injured list.
Gyorko, 30, has been on the injured list since early June due to lower back, calf, and wrist injuries.
