Johnson's Downing Street office confirmed he will travel to Berlin on Wednesday for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and to Paris on Thursday to meet French President Emmanuel Macron.

Johnson took office last month after his predecessor, Theresa May, failed three times to get parliament to approve the withdrawal deal she had negotiated with the EU.

His own officials, however, have warned that with a no-deal Brexit, the sharing of law enforcement data and the health of Britain's crucial financial services industry could be in jeopardy after October 31.

"There may well be bumps in the road but we will be ready to come out on October 31 deal or no deal", the prime minister said.

The Sunday Times newspaper published what it said was what the British government expects in the case of a sudden, "no-deal" Brexit.

The EU has repeatedly stated that it was not ready to renegotiate the Brexit deal it had reached with May.

That puts Britain on course for an unmanaged exit, which an official assessment published by the Sunday Times said would jam ports, increase the risk of public protests and severely disrupt the world's fifth-largest economy.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is under increasing pressure to recall Parliament after leaked government documents warned of widespread shortages and border delays if the United Kingdom leaves the European Union without a withdrawal agreement.

Speaking on Monday, Mr Johnson said Britain can "definitely" get ready for no-deal.

He urged lawmakers that were "serious" about blocking a no-deal Brexit to vote to bring down the government in a no-confidence vote, and said Labour would form a time-limited government to avoid leaving the European Union without a deal.

"We will do everything necessary to stop a disastrous no-deal, for which this government has no mandate", Corbyn said in a speech in Corby in central England.

He said Johnson must not be allowed to use parliamentary procedure to block discussion of the country's future, referring to concerns that Johnson could suspend the legislature until after October 31 or delay a national election even if his government fell before that date.

The Prime Minister has rejected demands for the recall of Parliament following warnings that a no-deal Brexit would cause "incredibly serious" economic harm.

More than 100 MPs have signed a letter demanding Mr Johnson recalls Parliament, and Mr McDonnell said he too backed the move.

Parliament is now not due to sit until September 3, when it will reconvene for a short session before breaking up again to allow for annual party conferences.

Michael Gove, the Government minister in charge of no-deal planning, is expected to update MPs on developments when the Commons resumes sitting.

The comments come after a British government document detailing the potential impacts of a no-deal divorce was leaked at the weekend.

Fresh concerns have been raised about the prospect of a no-deal Brexit following the leak of a confidential Whitehall dossier on the Operation Yellowhammer contingency plans.
