Patriots wide receiver Demaryius Thomas was activated off the PUP on Tuesday and rejoined New England's practice as he recovers from a torn Achilles.

We'll dive more deeply into what qualify as reasonable expectations for Thomas coming off of a season-ending Achilles tear past year, but the addition of players with National Football League experience to a receiver room that appeared lacking just last week has to be a welcome sight for Tom Brady. That seems to indicate that he will be removed from the physically unable to perform list later today on the official transaction wire.

Thomas finished with 59 catches for 677 yards and five touchdowns last season over his time with the Texans and Broncos. Edelman, Gordon, Thomas, Phillip Dorsett and Harris are the other present favorites to make the final 53-man roster. Josh Gordon (NFI) and Cam Meredith (PUP) remain ineligible to practice but were on the fields behind Gillette Stadium Tuesday afternoon and warming up with their teammates.

Barcelona offer 160 million for Neymar... to be paid in 2020
They apparently made an official offer already, ponying up $89 million plus Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic, but that was turned down. According to ESPN , Barcelona is going to try and sign Neymar on loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.

There were several absences at practice that coincided with Thomas' return. Bennett, Chung and Ivey attended Monday's practice. While he can not play in New England's preseason matchup against Carolina on Thursday - a condition of his return - he'll be permitted to play the first game.

Just a few days ago, the Patriots were without receivers Julian Edelman, Thomas, N'Keal Harry and Maurice Harris and tight end Matt LaCosse. We all know that.
