PM Johnson says most important trade deal is with the EU

A Government source said Downing Street anticipated that Monday September 9 - when MPs are likely to discuss the report in the Commons - could be the first major legislative showdown over a no-deal Brexit.

An opportunity to start the process could come within five days of 4 September, by which point MPs have to debate a report on restoring devolution in Northern Ireland.

But while Rudd has since said that a no-deal Brexit would be a "challenge" she insisted the government was seeking a deal.

Ms Rudd, who once claimed Mr Johnson is "not the man you want driving you home at the end of the evening", rejected suggestions she is a "sellout" for dropping her objections to a no-deal Brexit in order to keep her cabinet job.

"It will be a tough old haggle but we will get there".

By party, respondents who identified as Conservative Party voters backed the statement by an even more decisive 76 per cent, as did a significant 32 per cent minority of Labour voters, and even 25 per cent of voters who back the slavishly europhile Liberal Democrats.

While Johnson has spoken by phone with European Union leaders including German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron since taking office last month, he's yet to meet them in person.

College bribery scandal: Vlogger Oliva Jade’s message to the gossipers
Olivia Jade , a popular YouTube vlogger with almost 2 million followers, saw her budding career implode overnight. Olivia Jade's career isn't the only one hurting from the scandal either.

She admitted earlier this year a no-deal Brexit would "do generational damage to our economy and security".

Labour MP Virendra Sharma, a supporter of the Best for Britain campaign for a second European Union referendum, said: "It may not help her career, but Amber needs to start telling the truth about no-deal again". "They discussed global economic issues and trade, and the prime minister updated the president on Brexit", Downing Street said.

At the same time, a legal challenge aiming to prevent Boris Johnson from shutting down parliament to force a no-deal Brexit has been submitted to a Scottish court, according to the BBC.

More than 70 UK MPs and members of the House of Lords have petitioned the Edinburgh court to rule that the move would be "unlawful and unconstitutional".

Conversely, 46 percent disagreed with the prospect - although figures for both sides are effectively exaggerated, as they were calculated based on the removal of "don't knows" from the totals.

The latest legal challenge to Brexit has been masterminded by the same legal team that secured a victory at the European Court of Justice in 2018 over whether the United Kingdom could unilaterally cancel Brexit by revoking Article 50.

Mr Johnson has been in talks with U.S. president Donald Trump for the third time in three weeks amid plans to withdraw from the EU, Downing Street officials said on Monday.
